At the "67th IIW General Assembly and International Conference" held in Seoul, Korea from July 13–18, 2014, Turkey was represented by Gedik Holding CEO and TKTA President Dr. Mustafa KOÇAK; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Gedik University and TR-ANB Executive Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuba KARAHAN; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emel TABAN, Faculty Member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kocaeli University; Hasan MÜFTÜOĞLU, Head of the Energy and Transportation Division at Türk Loydu; and Structural Engineering Expert Başar YALÇINER from NPCC.

Dr. Mustafa KOÇAK represented Turkey in IIW Technical Commissions II, IX, X, XIII, and XV; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuba KARAHAN participated in IAB-A/B, Commission XIV, and the Technical Management Board (TMB) meetings; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emel TABAN took part in Commissions II, IV, and IX; Hasan MÜFTÜOĞLU in Commission XI and the SC QUAL Commission and Committee; and Başar YALÇINER in Commissions XIII and XV.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emel Taban presented two papers in Commissions II and IX. Such technical presentations and contributions on behalf of Turkey were well received. Furthermore, it was stated that GEV-TKTA would like to host the IIW General Assembly again in 2018, as it did in 2010—an offer that was met with great enthusiasm by the IIW Board and its members.
