WELDING INSPECTION

• IWIP-B Trainings is a course program of approximately 100 hours consisting of Theoretical and Practical parts.
• Our ATB Instructors are the most distinguished names in Turkey in Welding Technology.
• Candidates success is evaluated through Classical, Test and Oral exams.
• All exams are conducted using the International question bank prepared by IIW/EWF.
• "International Welding Inspection Personnel - Basic" diploma is issued to successful candidates. If requested "European Welding Inspection Personnel - Basic" diploma is also issued.

• Persons with at least two years of documentable experience in welding.

A candidate who completes the “Basic” level training within this program will have a general knowledge of the theory and practice of welding and inspection. This knowledge will enable the candidate to effectively perform the following tasks:

• Perform visual inspection directly, without the use of auxiliary equipment, to identify and evaluate weld defects according to acceptance criteria
• Verify, observe and understand all welding related activities during fabrication (including, but not limited to, the following):
• Verify the adequacy of information in non-destructive testing (NDT) reports for conventional techniques (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT)
• Verify data and adequacy of material certificates (base material and supplementary material)
• Verify the identification and traceability of materials in the manufacturing process
• Verify compliance of raw materials and consumables with relevant standards, codes and specifications
• Verify the application of WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) in production (e.g. arc welding processes, steels - see Chapter 1 for more details)
• Verify the implementation of PWHT (Pre Heat Treatment and Post Heat Treatment) specifications in production
• Witnessing welder qualification tests and monitoring the testing of samples
• Witnessing production test samples
• Read and understand inspection and test plans
• Read and understand construction drawings in relation to inspection activities
• Reporting all the above transactions to an authorized auditor

• IWIP-S Training is a 200-hour course program consisting of Theoretical and Practical parts.
• Our ATB Instructors are the most distinguished names in Turkey in Welding Technology.
• Candidates success is evaluated through Classical, Test and Oral exams.
• All exams are conducted using the International question bank prepared by IIW/EWF.
• “International Welding Inspection Personnel - Standard” diploma is issued to successful candidates. Upon request, “European Welding Inspection Personnel - Standard” diploma is also issued.

• Vocational High School Graduates with at least two years of documentable experience in welding.

A candidate completing the “Standard” level training under this program will have an advanced knowledge of welding and inspection theory and practice. This knowledge will enable the candidate to perform the following tasks (in addition to the IWI-B tasks):

• Supervise the activities of IWI-B level staff;
• Develop and provide instructions to IWI-B level staff;
• Develop, review and interpret Quality Control Plans and Inspection/Test Plans based on product standards, codes, specifications, drawings and regulatory requirements;
• Witnessing procedure proficiency tests and monitoring the testing of samples;
• Verify the conformity of WQPRs (Welder Qualification Test Reports) and WPSs (Welding Procedure Specifications) for conventional applications (e.g. arc welding processes, steels, aluminum alloys - see Section 1 for further details);
• Verify that PWHT specifications comply with relevant standards, codes and specifications;
• Verify compliance of raw material and consumable certificates with relevant standards, codes and specifications;
• Decide on the acceptance of quality certificates related to welding fabrication (e.g. NDT, material tests, production tests, etc.);
• Make decisions based on quality documentation according to defined requirements for construction (e.g. NDT, material tests, production tests, etc.);
• Verify the quality adequacy of radiographic films (without interpretation);
• Identify and validate relevant NDT techniques for a welded structure;
• Reporting all the above processes.

• IWIP-C Trainings is a course program of approximately 250 hours consisting of Theoretical and Practical sections.
• Our ATB Instructors are the most distinguished names in Turkey in Welding Technology.
• Candidates success is evaluated through Classical, Test and Oral exams.
• All exams are conducted using the International question bank prepared by IIW/EWF.
• “International Welding Inspection Personnel - Comprehensive” diploma is issued to successful candidates. Upon request, “European Welding Inspection Personnel - Comprehensive” diploma is also issued.

• Associate Degree Graduates with at least two years of documentable experience in welding.

A candidate completing the ‘Comprehensive’ level training under this program will have in-depth knowledge of welding and inspection theory and practice. This knowledge will enable the candidate to perform the following tasks (in addition to the IWI-S and IWI-B tasks):

• Manage the full range of Source Inspection activities
• Supervising the activities of IWI-S and IWI-B level personnel
• Develop and provide instructions to IWI-S and IWI-B level staff
• To act as a technical expert for the inspection function
• Develop, review and interpret Quality Control Plans and Inspection/Test Plans for applications not covered by product standards, codes, specifications, drawings and regulatory requirements
• Manage inspection activities for materials, processes and non-conventional applications related to advanced destructive testing and NDT techniques (see Section 1 for further details)
